Part 2 – Signing and stuff
The band plays two sets of 45 min each with a break in the middle. This is when I witness the weirdness of a costume contest which is always so very strange… The boys get a drink and some fresh air and then they are back on stage.
The second set includes a “new” song… “Under the Boardwalk” featuring lead vocals by Kim Story. I loved it… I like that song anyway… Well done, Kim!!!
The show ends far too early and we are screaming and cheering and whistling and applauding like mad. The atmosphere couldn’t be better. Marc lets everybody know that there will be a signing session where they can also buy CDs and stuff. The hotel staff set up the signing tables and people start queuing even before any band member sits down. I think that is quite cool.
So the boys finish packing up their stuff and take a seat and start chatting to the people. I keep away from the table and just watch them. Of course I am in charge of Bill’s drinks and kind of am cruising between the signing area and the bar. I feel very important….
I am arguing with myself whether to go over and ask Ethan for a picture. Judy offers to drag me there and do the talking. I respectfully decline and now Candace steps in and says she wants to go there too, so why don’t we go together. We pep-talk each other and are on our way. Ethan is more than happy to pose with us and I ask him if it’s true that this gig was his first in front of an audience. Yes it is, and he was very excited to have been given the chance and of course he had a blast.
I can see that people are buying CDs and ask for autographs and pictures. It feels so good to see the guys surrounded by these people. Vaughn of course goes through a bunch of hugs.
Just before the end the band pose on stage for a group picture.
Then Bill and I grab the equipment and off we go.
I had a wonderful time and so much fun. You rock guys!!!! Well done!!!! _________________ "In the middle of my backswing?!" |

Awesome gig, awesome photos! Thanks Manu!
We had an absolute blast and I believe sounded excellent thanks to the help of Ron Eglet helping us get a really nice balance. We could all hear and know it sounded good even in the back. Too bad that Steve and Casey could not be there but Kim, Mike and Ethan were great! Ethan only made one practice and really rocked. Wish you all could have been there.
VEGAS IS NEXT!!!!!!!!

Hi, all! Thank you so much for this delightful report, Manu. It's true. We had a great time and the music was truly fun. Mike, Kim, and Ethan were wonderful additions! But I must say....we couldn't have done it without Steve and Casey. True...they were not at rehersals or the performance BUT!!! they were major elements in the formation of the music, arranging all the harmonies on the albums and making them real pieces of music. We rehersed with the CD's so in a way they were at rehersals, helping us in their absence. It's nice to know we can still do these things when Steve and Casey get jobs....but we couldn't have done it without them. Thank you all for your continued support! Thank you Steve and Casey! THank you again Mike, Kim and Ethan! Thank you Ron Eglet for your generous assistance. And thank you Ron, Bill , and Richard for your enormous talents, for being there with me throughout, and for trusting that we could in fact pull this off! Now like Ron said....ON TO VEGAS!!!

Excellent!!!! I'm so happy to hear that everyone had a blast and that the band won recognition of a non-Trek audience.
Thanks a lot for sharing the experience and photos, Manu. You're a star! Now I'm even more excited about Vegas!!! Only about 4 months to go. Yeeaaay. _________________ "Note to the galley: Romulan Ale no longer to be served at diplomatic functions." |

Manu, thanks again for the second part of your report and the many photos.
You all have a lot of fun in Vegas!! I'll be there in spirit. _________________

Manu, thank you SO much for the report and all the pictures! I wish I could have been there. Too bad you didn't get to meet any other guest stars, but I'm sure there'll be plenty more opportunities, now that you're practically part of the band _________________ "Without freedom of choice, there is no creativity. Brian from Leap Back has just launched the Leap Back Con photo gallery, and it includes some great photos of the Enterprise Blues Band and their appearance there at the end of March.
Visit their Gallery and EBB album here
He is asking for attendees to send in their own photos of the event too. _________________ Dance like no-one is watching |
